thankful for

so thankful for little dudes, with little hands that try to do everything – jump as high as buildings, push logs as big as his dad and climb trees even the birds are afraid to reach the top of. thank you for teaching me to always try things too.

my husband and I aren’t the best swing dancers. sometimes I screw up my footwork, sometimes we move so fast my footwork is only bounces and skips. sometimes the dance floor is too slippery and I slide and he catches me, not at all gracefully. sometimes he dips me too far and we stutter and it looks like I’m going to crack my head on the floor. occasionally we get too much tension and our hands slip and someone gets whacked in the face.

yet, every time we dance in public no one notices those things. they notice how much we smile, and the funny faces we make at each other. they notice how fast we manage to move while still looking awesome. they notice my red lipstick and his slicked back hair. they notice our love of the music and how we sing to each other.

the things they notice make is the best dancers they’ve ever seen.
